I got six small buxus which are between 4-6 inches and i,d like to clip them into circles as they grow. Do I leave them to grow a bit first or can I start to shape them now?
and can they be clipped anytime or only at certain times of the year?

You can trim box any time really but the trick is to do them a little at a time too much can cause damage. I use scissors to trim mine lightly all over about twice a year to keep the shape. The ball shape just comes as you curve over it, keep standing back and you will find it easy to see what you are doing.

I wouldt really clip them after september depending on weather, as the sold can damage the new growth and also the cut edges. It s best done either early morn before the full sun reaches the plant or late afternoon when the heat of the day is going.
