wild growing - white -sweet,very sweet smelling

small (size of your thumb nail) - grows in our national parks,
from mid May until mid June; also on the farmer's field row behind my house - same time frame. I live on the north shore of Lake Erie. Because it is so small - could this be a form of rosa multiflora?
