flowers that grow under a pine tree

Hi, I have a ten foot round garden that is under a pine tree that has been trimmed up about 10 feet. I am in zone 4 and the garden gets morning sun and afternoon shade. Any suggestions for what may grow there and thrive? I am interested in perenials.
