I know spring is early but this is ridiculous - this gentian waited until April last year

A very welcome flower but if does turn cold it will wish it had waited until April

Better go check on mine, I think they are well covered with chamomile! Yes, colder weather is expected.

Lovely flower, how is it coping with the frost Andrew?

DD - it's under the glass I put over the alpine bed last month (see the blog "Glassing It Over") which keeps the rain off. The flower is till fine but it has closed up

The cover-up is mainly to keep water from getting in the crowns of the sempervivums and freezing but I've got just enough glass to cover practically the whole alpine bed
