Lower Garden Summer
This is a similar view of our lower garden to the one showing the white birch tree. This is what it looks like in the summer.

We introduced perennials into this part of the garden about four years ago. Some didn't survive because it can be overshadowed by surrounding trees for several hours a day. We now concentrate on multiplying the ones that can cope. The Agapanthus are in pots - I'm told that they flower better with roots contained. These pots are now sheltering near the fence and are showing signs of life. The Crocosmia Lucifer are very happy in the shade and make a stunning display in late July and August.
