Painting the Pagoda

Painting the Pagoda

This is Tony painting the Pagoda with 7 coats of Sikkins varnish! He did this whilst we were waiting for planning permission (yes - we did need permission since it was 3.2 metres high!) The kit came in 177 wooden sections and with 950 screws - but the instructions were missing....we did get them later!

It was a labour of love - painting it in the garage after work. We had to learn to be patient since in the cool early spring temperatures it took a long time for each coat the dry. Couldn't rush it and it was really confusing to know which bits we'd coated. You can't see all the runs!
