The corner we planted it in is very boggy in the winter but not that wet in the summer,Although the roots are allways in the shade,And i do hose the roots well when it is very hot as the leaves wilt in very hot weather(which is not very often),but most of the time it is happy left on its own..............

The Gunnera and the Phormium immediately catch the eye. Then I feel drawn to the rest of the planting scheme. Then I'm wandering what's behind the Gunnera and that low hedge toward the back. Lovely layout Eggbox. Let's see more, please. Just how big is your Gunnera at moment?

I love your garden, Eggbox! Is the gunnera growing in a boggy place? Is it natural, or have you engineered the bogginess somehow? I'd love to have a gunnera, but my garden soil is very sharply drained, so too dry for them :-(
