Buddy was one of these puppies. Casey, the golden retriever, loved his puppies as much as Niki, the rottweiler, did.

Casey, the Golden retriever was given to me because he was no longer wanted. One day, he ran off and got the Rottweiler off a locked chain. A few hours, later they both came running into my house [when I opened the door] all muddy. Later, when the owner came to get the Rottweiler, she didn't want to go home with him, but came running to me licking my hand. It was decided that I could keep her. I was told that she did not like being in the house, and may do lots of damage inside. She was so gentle and loving, and enjoyed being a house dog. She had their 12 puppies by my computer. I was able to find homes for the puppies. I even gave Buddy away, but he was returned. Casey and Buddy were good pals, but since Casey died last year, Buddy has been very close to me, and won't even go outside, unless I go with him. He doesn't need a lease and stay right by my side when we take walks. He is shy and won't let strangers pet him, and doesn't care much for other dogs.

This is so strange, Talljim. We had a golden retreiver dog, Ben, who took a fancy to our neighbour's rottweiler bitch, Chanelle. Accidentally, between them they had a litter of pups which had the general appearance of a rottweiler but with softer retreiver-like facial characteristics.
