Garden visitor - the Peaceful Dove

Spotted this fellow this morning - not a good photo as he was quite a distance away. Apparently called the Peaceful Dove (Geopelia placida) I've just found out.

That's one of the doves that are very common around here - I'm not sure what its' proper name would be.

Catfinch my lovely husband has just informed me that it is called the Peaceful Dove - what a great name! They are quite small as they grow to about 25cms.

Lovely name for a lovely dove.He is a bit like our Collared Dove and there is a Turtle Dove which is very similar...
