Acer palmatum Pheonix.

Acer palmatum Pheonix.

This Acer is quite old and was more than ready to be repotted...whilst normally I would have done this in the Spring,my impatience got the better of me.I not only repotted it in midst Summer, but pruned a 1/3 of its top.
Amazingly it has responded well and produced fresh growth.I think I was lucky there.

It looks very happy with your pruning, maybe a new time to do it with our different weather patterns?

That’s interesting Julia … I had thought that Acers didn’t like being pruned … wrong again!
