Golden Cane or Butterfly Palm (Dypsis lutescens); Triangle Palm (Dypsis decaryi)

Golden Cane or Butterfly Palm (Dypsis lutescens); Triangle Palm (Dypsis decaryi) (Dypsis)

So many unusual palms on the property. In back of the common butterfly palm there’s another rare unknown clustering Dypsis palm. Unfortunately, it’s not visible in this pic. Photo take 5 blocks from my house on Dec. 13, 2022.

I'm liking the diversity of palms and such here, Andy. The short stocky trunked one in front especially.

The one in front is a Dracaena draco or dragon tree. (Not a palm; but palm-like)

Looks like one of the dry Hawaiian Islands. Nice!

Thanks Andy, I've heard of the Dracaena, I can see that now.
Looks a great selection.

Stan,

I think this house used to have Palm Society members living here. It has one large D. madagascariensis, D. cabadae, and in back of the D. lutescens there’s a clustering unusual Dypsis palm I can’t identify.

Kate:

There’s many species and varieties of Dracaena. Most grow as landscape plants here.
