Brodiaea Queen Fabiola - for Lincslass

Brodiaea Queen Fabiola - for Lincslass

I believe the genus Brodiaea is in the process of being split into two separate groups and being renamed to Triteleia - so confusing!

These have been in my garden since 2010 and now pop up along from this original clump. The flowers are more of a lilac/mauve hue, not as blue as this photo shows.

I can't spell either of them, so it makes no difference to me!! Yours look very nice, Shirley.

Ha, ha Anget ... they're just Queen Fab. to me!

A pretty colour and shape to this flower, Shirley.

I have only known them as Triteleia and I have Queen Fabiola and it is, according to my girls, an amazing blue. Mine in bud at the moment.

Thanks Kate.

Eileen, to my eyes it more of a lilac/mauve colour but my camera always mucks up with blue shades!

That's eye popping! I do wish they'd stop changing the names of plants. At least our everyday names don't seem to change.

A lovely clump of colour.

Julia, it's maddening isn't it? Sedums now sell under the Latin name of Hylotelephium and Dicentra (Bleeding Heart) is now Lamprocapnos ... eek!!

A pretty plant,Shirley, and Queen Fab is what I would call it too. ! :o) . I still call all my plants by their past names, so I refuse to get tongue tied with the current ones ! x.

I must have missed that programme,Shirley. When was it on please ?

1 Jul, 2022

Sandra, it is a C5 programme called 'Casualty 24/7 ... Every second counts' and is now into Series 6! Michael found it on catch-up a couple of weeks ago. Hope that helps ... :o)

Ah yes,I know which one you mean now..Thank you.I think it clashes with something else we usually watch, and we have another programme we record on Sky + ..too much choice !! :o) .
Our favourite programme is back this week,'Summer on the Farm' from Cannon Hall, which is in the Barnsley area, and we often go there,as it's lovely place to visit..Garden Centre,Cafe, etc,,what's not to like ?? Lol.

2 Jul, 2022

Sandra, I shall have to take a look at that ... :o)

The Farm there is lovely for Families,we have taken the boys there ,but it is quite pricey, but obviously ,it pays for the upkeep of the Animals,House and vast grounds ,etc, which is where we usually spend our day..The two farmers, are typical Yorkshire lads with humour to match ! :o) ..Tuesday ,8pm Channel 5.. x

Thanks Sandra ... have made a note to watch it.

Shirley,so sorry,but I didn't read the tv guide properly,as it's on all week at 8pm ! I hadn't realised till tonight.I hope you manage to see tonight's programme. :o( ..

4 Jul, 2022

Michael told me today that it will be on all week ... not sure I shall watch every episode!! Thanks for letting me know. Cricket is his priority at the moment ... yawn!!

4 Jul, 2022

Ah well,I guess you have to take the rough with the smooth, when it's Cricket season ! I would be yawning too..Lol.Glad you were aware it was on all week.Luckily,Russell and I aren't cricket fans, except for going to watch our two Grandsons playing on Thursday evenings. We will record it that night.. :o)

Sandra, as a birthday treat for Michael I have foolishly suggested watching live cricket at Arundel Castle. Lords Taverners v Duke of Norfolks eleven! I shall be packing a book to read and puzzle books to look at ... :o))

6 Jul, 2022

Shirley, now that is what I call a very caring birthday Gift, and a very sensible wife,to be taking some suitable reading matter, plus Puzzle books ..the latter are what I pass a lot of time doing,as we don't always like the same TV programmes.. quite often,as it happens ! :o)) .
I had quite a few bought for Christmas, so that's kept me welll occupied .Lol. x

6 Jul, 2022

Sandra, I know nothing about the game of cricket, or any sports really! Not about to learn either ... :o))

7 Jul, 2022

Ditto ,Shirley.. I just know when to clap ,if I see Tom or Alfie hit the ball at cricket, and run very fast ! :o) .x
