Andy..you have any idea why when the flowers on this plant age..that long thin filament develops on the flowers? Making then hang another half a foot+, below? It reminds me of those Sausage tree photos you posted.
Anybody?

I can send you cuttings. California to California is legal.

I'm not really familiar with this variety (I've never seen one). It's an incredible-looking vine. It would look great under my shade structure. Is it easy from cuttings?

Its a good one. Blooms most of summer and will also flush a bloom any time in winter- even January when I saw roof frost..this plant had new blooms..they didn't hang by a thread as they aged like the summer blooms. Or,it wasn't old enough for that trait back then?
I've never tried cuttings..its a big lipstick plant filling a large 8" pot. I can go larger next spring.
I also don't take many cuttings or seeds of what I have. One is usually enough and my small lot is another reason.

I should have said- cuttings of 'Twister'. Over the years I've of course taken cuttings of various plants. Just want to be clear.

Does this plant stay outside all year?

All year. Never showed a problem due to cold. Just turns purple and green in summer.
