The other thing I meant to say and didnt is how these are perhaps the biggest Ive ever grown. Normally the slugs / other nastys have them as soon as first shott appears. I cheated/broke the rules and did them in trays first and then transplanted them like leeks (IE hole and watered in)

How good is that, Lom. Not sure if they would pass the Asda/Tesco visual tests, but does it really matter. I bet they taste GREAT.
