My favourite September shrub
Leycesteria Formosa or Himalayan honeysuckle. This shrub which was popular in Victorian gardens is not very fashionable now. I think it is a real shame as it is so beautiful in late summer/early autumn.

There is a variety now available with gold leaves, good shrub also known as 'Pheasant Berry'
