I love fresh figs. Very envious as I would love to grow a fig tree in my garden. Lucky you!!

Pam, I think you can grow it, too - the name for suitable sort is Turkish fig (Ficus carica). We have minus 20-23 degrees of Celsius in the winter which, I think, you never have on the Isles and as you see, this fig tree has survived. All what you need is to find a sheltered position in the garden.
My fig tree grows in the garden oriented to the south, iit is almost all day exposed to the direct sun. From the north and east it is sheltered by bushes.

Hello Crissue,

oh yes, they are miracles. Actually I did not water my fig tree for the whole summer, it standed on the sun all those days (May till September) and still have enough power to create sweet fruits. Yes, miracles. Love them.
