Ah, yes. I have a friend in Shewsbury...lovely part of the world. When we visited we only went as far South as Ludlow, but we crossed over in to Wales to go on a little steam train. But I have also been to Hereford (I think I was 14!) which was lovely. And I have a friend in Swindon, so I am familiar with all around that area of the world...the West Country...it's my favourite part of England. My favourite place of all in England is Avebury. I think I have a spiritual connection with the place...just feel very 'grounded' and 'at home' there for some reason.
