Phygelius Candydrop Cream 7.7.2011

Phygelius Candydrop Cream 7.7.2011 (Phygelius Candydrop Cream)

Another Morrisons bargain plant. At £2.00 I had to have it. It was raining when I posted this photograph but the sun has just come out so I will let you see what I actually bought. It grows in good garden soil. I take it that means neutral or not acid. I have had a red variety in the past which shoots up to 8' and is a rampant spreader. This is a mini at 3' x 3'. Grows in full sun or partial shade. Flowers all summer. I did have a yellow one in a pot but lost it to the frost last winter.

I like the look of that one. I also had a red, rampant one which took over the flower bed - it really put me of these plants. A mini one sounds perfect :)

I managed to take a pic, and I have posted it, of the actual plant and it is well shaped and very healthy looking. Some of you might know this by the common name of Cape Fuschia. Its leaves are just like the fuschia leaves.
