Hang on to it and dont throw it.
Make sure it is out of direct sunlight and strong winds, as both of these can scorch the leaves. Next year it should be back to its former glory.

Really watch the watering, too. Watering just a few hours too late can burn the leaves on an Acer--I found out the hard way! It may decide to throw out a few new leaves this season, but less chance of that where you are.
