Hi Bernie - sorry late in replying to this one - yes this is one of the woods surrounding the house - it has lots of wee streams, wild honeysuckle & holly amongst its pleasures. We had thought of making it into a woodland walk at one point, but there is so much bracken & it really thickens up in the spring / summer that it's just not worth it. Unfortunately there are also quite a lot of ticks in the woods, so best to minimise the possibility of getting 1 attached to yourself.

Sounds gorgeous on one hand - wild honeysuckle and holly - but on the other hand - ticks - maybe not so much fun! That sounds so much like our bushland - that's full of bush ticks in places ... not so much in the bushland that surrounds my home but in the wetter areas to the north. Around here if you want to walk through the bush you mainly have to watch out for snakes!
