Birds, bees, tomatoes and peas.

I love bees. They are infact my favourite insect. Over the past week, I’ve noticed the increasing amount of bees buzzing about. I do feel quite sorry for them when they come to my garden because there aren’t many flowers in my garden for them to feast on. My point is, they are signs of spring. I am also thrilled to tell you about the blue tits which are trying to nest in my garden(yay!). These are another sign of spring. How about you? I’m seeing almost two bees a day(we’re getting there).
Today, also, I will get sowing with my tomatoes and peas. Don’t you just love the feeling of sowing a seed and then waiting for it to grow. I always got this sensation as a young child and that’s what got me into gardening. It’s funny, because you can’t explain that feeling to non-gardeners. Only gardeners can understand the amazing feeling you get from gardening. Anyway, in my next blog I’ll try and get some pictures up(like I said, try) so you can see and get the feel of what I’m talking about. I’m also trying to work out a little catchphrase thing I could put at the end of my blogs. I’ll see what I can come up with :)
(For now)Thanks.

I haven't seen any bees yet here in Devon, perhaps some one is a bee keeper near you. I just hope they turn up when my beans need pollinating.

I love big bumble bees but haven't seen any here yet.

It's probably still a bit cold I think.

Plenty of bees here - mainly because my neighbour has bee hives and makes honey - 'miel' in Spanish. The pleasure I have - apart from the occasional jar of honey - is that she says since I started growing flowers as well as veggies she has noticed an increase in the amount of honey produced, so I'm pleased I'm doing something for her economy as well as for nature in general. :o)

I saw a big bumble bee yesterday in a garden centre. He was trying to get out through a fanlight in the roof but it was closed. I hope he found a way eventually.
Like you, I have also enjoyed gardening from a child, when I used to drink the rain water that had collected in the centre of all the Lupin leaves lol :D

Good luck with your tomatoes and peas !
