freezing seeds

freezing seeds

Posted on 20 May, 2008 1 comment

This is our first year starting a vegetable garden. My mother gave us some frozen seeds to begin with but I noticed some of them are from 1997. Are they still ok to use? Should we just buy new?

Hi: Some seeds are viable for years especially if they are frozen.. I would certainly give them a try and I think I would put them in a damp paper towel, tucked in a dry towel, don't let them dry out and keep them in a warm spot in the house and see if they will germinate after a few days and then plant them. Hope this helps.
