Hello everyone, I have finally got around to Goy after about 6wks! My cast is off my wrist but I have been in such a lot of pain that I haven’t felt in the mood for doing much. Apparently it could be another 3wks or so before it has finished healing and then it can take up until 2yrs to heal completely !! at the moment it feels like it will never get better :-(
I finally retired on Aug 31st so now can look forward to getting on with all the jobs I haven’t had time for…
The company I worked for sent me a lovely bouquet of flowers and my friends/workmates collected for me and I bought a fairy for my garden.
Well I can’t believe how long it has taken for my hardy fuschias and my begonias to come into flower ! My Daniel Deronda that I cut down is growing again and has some buds. The runner beans have grown so well that the canes are collapsing under the weight although I would have thought that there would have been a better crop. Still flowers coming out but not too many beans….I have managed to put some in the freezer tho’. I will look forward to trying again next year.
Zephirine drouhin is flowering for a 2nd time too.I planted sweet pea seeds back in May that I had collected from some I grew about 2yrs ago and they have been very good altho’ not many colours. I have picked quite a few bunches so I’m really pleased about them.
I have 1 flower about to come out on my Geraniums that I planted in May – not that they have grown much, perhaps they are minatures lol.

Retirement bouquet

Fairy I christened ‘Rita’

Fuschia flowering at last !

My 1st Geranium flower just coming out !

Yellow begonia that I had to stake after heavy rain and wind..

That must be a relief to get the cast off. You must be careful not to over use it and rest it when tired. I think your fairy is a delightful gift and will give you a lot of pleasure in the years to come.

It is a relief but still frustrating not being able to do much and it aches too. I thought the fairy would be a long lasting gift..

Sorry to hear about your wrist & that you are still in pain. Give it time & lots of rest& things will get better as time passes. When I had my gall bladder out this time last year, I was in so much pain for weeks afterwards that I really felt as if I would be like that forever. I had six weeks off before I had to get back onto the ward I nursed on, & was so worried about that too. But in the end, my body did heal & the pain gradually lessened, & perhaps best of all, I was able to work in my garden again. I'm 60 & I certainly discovered that our bodies do take longer to recover than when we were younger, so hang in there. It will improve with time. I love your fairy Rita! And your fuchsia is lovely.

Isn't it infuriating how long recovery is as you get older! My grandson had an operation on one of his feet recently and, three days after the op, my daughter sent me a photo of him on crutches with his lower leg in plaster playing football!! 'Rita' is lovely! So is that lovely bouquet. Rest your arm as much as poss and I hope you get back to your garden soon. :o)

It does take time Nanjo so be careful what you are doing, you don`t want to put too much strain on it, I know it can be frustrating for you.
Your pics are lovely, the bouquet especially and Rita is already looking very relaxed in her new home...
