This has got to be one of the coldest windiest August’s I can remember we have torrential rain here in Bournemouth and it is so dark the streets lights have come on and I can hear thunder in the distance. Shame it is the start of the airshow today but I cannot see it happening. My dad is coming down tomorrow do hope it cheers up a bit, seriously considering putting the heating on tonight! Sorry everyone RANT over:)

Yesterday was warm and sunny here in Yorks, for a change and today it is warm in the sun, but the breeze seems to have an autumnal air to it.

No matter what the weather granny d, I'm sure you'll enjoy your time with your dad.

Have a lovely weekend.

Thanks Grannyb we have made the BBC news with our floods today Stations, shopping centres and numerous roads have closed due to the floods, think I am going to put the heating on when I get home and hibernate, OH is going home in a minute to check on our sun lounge cos we get leaks when it is driving continious rain. Tomorrow apparantly it is going to be 23 and sunny I'm keeping my fingers crossed but definitely not holding my breath lol:)

yesterday here felt a bit like the calm before the storm, so still not a blade of grass moved... now its cold and very wet I'm not sure that I like summer in april :0(

I put a 'like' to this by mistake Nana d ... we've just watched the lunchtime news and couldn't believe the flooding in the park where the air balloon is! My OH said "You've walked through that park" ... a good few years ago though ... hope you don't get any water coming through into the sun lounge ... enjoy the time with your Dad ... :o)))

I know Pam having summer in April makes winter seem sooooooo long:(

Hi Shirley, yes it looks pretty bad they are still saying the Bournemouth airshow is going to take place but I'm thinking it maybe should be changed to the Bournemouth boat show! Still raining here but thunder lightening has stopped but still lots of roads closed. Wondering what my poor little garden is going to look like when I get home......................on the bright side I won't have to water:)

Still very sunny here, but gloomy atmosphere from OH as the cricket is rained off. A change of weather for you tomorrow, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Nana d just wish you could send us a bucket or two, I`ve used up all of my two rain barrels and the ground is so dry, still its better than being flooded, hope you have better weather soon.

Hi Bloomer all the rain has stopped now everything got battered though............... went to Sainsburys on the way home cos it was too bad to go anywhere lunchtime got all my shopping and as I was walking to the cash out a voice came over the tannoy to evacuate the building so I gave up and came home:) Had to put the heating on tonight but dad is still coming down and we went shoppinglater this evening so not too bad. Stroller cannot believe you are dry where you are thanks everyone for your lovely messages.

we're a bit like Stroller here in East Midlands, yesterdays rain disappeared very quickly and when I got up this morning it looked autumn, bright sun, a heavy dew and cold!

Hi Pam well what a difference 24 hours makes sun is shining although it hasn't warmed up yet but hopefully it will a bit later. My poor flowers look battered and sad hopefully the sun will cheer them up but I will have a lot of dead heading to do when I get home today. Still it is nice for when my dad comes down later:)

Sent you some Yorkshire sunshine yesterday, glad you've received it. It will warm up, my weather indicator Cat is sitting outside, so it must be warming up.

It was quite chilly, but sunny at 7.30 when Sol and I were out picking blackberries. Like to do it early, before the wasps arrive.

19 Aug, 2011

Thank you Grannyb received it and things are warming up so hopefully my sodden plants will perk up today:) Are you collecting the blackberries for jam?

19 Aug, 2011

No granny d, blackberry & apple crumble.

19 Aug, 2011

Mmm lovely I have cheated and got toffee and apple crumble for after dinner tonight for my dad curtesy of M&S:) Leaving work early today only 45 mins to go which is lovely, but apparantly the met have issued a warning of more heavy rain for Sunday for Bournemouth area:(

19 Aug, 2011

Nothing wrong in cheating granny d, espicially if it gives you more time with your dad.

Were having Shirley-Tulips "Plum Cake, warmed in the microwave with ice cream.

Tonight we are babysitting our grand-daughter Amber.

have a lovely evening and hope the sun shines for the air show.
