A deal has been struck!

Bonjour people!

I haven’t been on the site for a few weeks now, due to being quite busy at work and at home. However, I’m back!

Mrs James and I have come to an agreement: she gets a nice bird table for the garden for Xmas and I get my mini greenhouse! Fun times ahead meethinks! The purchases will be made in early December – but I won’t expect them wrapped!

So, I’ll be harrasing you for some hints and tips as to what is the earliest I can start growing veggies in the said greenhouse, before planting them out in spring!

Next week is half-term week, so Mrs James will be off work for two weeks, in which time we’ll both be making chutneys, pickled shallots/onions and various other delicacies (?) for the Chrimbo Season! Wooo……what fun! Of course, the making of the pickled onions/shallots will involve some of the Apache chillies!!!

Hi Merf...
Nice to hear from you...
For a moment, I thought you were after hints and tips on how to gift-wrap a bird table and a greenhouse...lots of paper... and big labels marked FRAGILE...
.. those sound like wonderful presents :o)

I hope Mrs. James gets at least a little rest over half-term, in between the chutneys and the chillies. :o)

Welcome back Merf...get those chillies spicing things up for Crimbo! Personally...I think you got the better deal gift wise...a whole greenhouse against a bird for the table?? It'd better be a giant turkey...or a bird, inside a bird, inside a bird, inside a bird etc etc etc! ;O)

Ohhhhh...you said a birdtable! Doh! Nice one!;0))))

Birds can visit my place anytime, Sue! Not sure if Mrs James would be too keen on the idea though! LOL.

We did some chillied pickled shallots last year, to be ready for Xmas. They were OK, but not quite as warm as I'd have preferred them. HOWEVER, sometime in early February of this year I found a lonely jar secreted away in the larder, which I opened and had with some cheese and crackers: HEAD - MY - OFF - BLEW (mean anything to you? Re-arrange into a well known phrase!)
