Happy Valentine's day to all friends 💓

For those who acknowledge today and even those who don’t, do have a safe and happy day. Here we have woken up to a very foggy morning but the lovely red roses are giving such cheer…thank you OH!
.

Yesterday it was almost spring like tending the garden…I have now lost 4 shrubs due to the ‘freeze’…3 of which were recently planted and also mulched…so that’s probably the chance you take.

The clematis are sprouting…no sign of fresh growth on the perennials yet…Will sprinkle a little BF and Bone when the day opens up.

This year( think it was Stera’s tip) I’m removing the top layer of compost from a few potted roses…they were attacked by Rose ‘worms’ last season…apparently if you remove the top layer of compost where the larvae overwinter and replenish, it may be the answer…we’ll wait and see.
The pool water is showing that there is a possible leak….so that will be the next job! The water lily, although very pretty at its best,is far too large .Will probably reduce the size of the pool and buy a dwarf one. There is a lot of debris at the bottom which accumulates so quickly throughout the year.We have to clear it a few times during the summer months.I also want to increase the planting area at one end…
Must close now…have a good productive day(gardenwise) x

Who said romance is dead? Super roses - I'll have a long wait for mine. OH said I had houseplants instead (He used the same excuse for Christmas, Anniversary and birthday, so I told him that won't wash any more!!)
Sounds like s good gardening day ahead. Increasing the size of a border, Meadow???

They are lovely red roses Julia..❤
I didn't receive any roses, but enjoyed a wintry afternoon with friends mainly single and eating cake and drinking tea, haha, very very nice. No Welsh cakes though..:((

Lovely Roses and lets hope the warmer weather comes soon so that you can get on with your pond project, as you may remember I love a good garden project but am finding it hard to do small jobs now, still if I can only keep things tidy I shall be pleased.

Unfortunately Julia my lovely hubby is disabled and can't even walk into a shop on his own as he is now in a wheel chair when we go out!
Your roses are lovely but I am thankful for the man he is and don't need flowers to remind me how lucky I am!

Happy belated Valentine’s Day 🌹
Beautiful roses, Julia! Very apt.
Apologising for the late replies, been up to Scotland for several days and just arrived back.

Thank you, Julia. I drove up last Friday, early morning and came back this afternoon.
Good to catch up and see everyone. I managed to visit one of my aunts who has been very poorly.
Fortunately she is on the mend, slowly but surely.
Thanks again x

I have been away too and have only just got back! We couldn’t get a table in pubs near where we were staying because it was Valentine’s Day - that is the first time we even thought about it!!
I love your roses but completely understand where Rose is coming from too.
