how to hide a play structure...

We have a small backyard in a residential area. Our neighbors just put in an enormous play structure that I have to stare at from my kitchen table. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to obstruct my view besides trees. We have a split-rail fence and in order to have a flat back yard, we built a retaining wall, so it leaves about a 2 ft. planting area between the fence and wall, which isn’t big enough for trees. I was thinking about a 10ft. structure (similar to an arbor or trellis) that would have climbing vines.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
