Hi all thankyou for the great comments and well done stroller you guessed it right.

Hi Fran are you sure you would like to tackle something like this for a project? It took me 7 hours to build this size ,the measurements i provide could be downsized.I made this with no plans.

The wood is recycle pine offcuts.
The measurements are total height 55 1/2 inches
width 21 3/4 inches
length 31 1/2 inches

Wood sizes i used are 1 1/2 in x 1 in
1 1/2 in x 1/2 in
3 1/2 in x 1/2 in
2 1/2 in x 1/2 in

The planter depth is 7 1/4 inches

Screws i used are 1 in,2 in,3 in approx quantity 400.

Pieces i used are 34 pieces of wood for the roof
30 pieces for the sides
2 uprights
26 pieces for the inside

These are all different measurements.

thanks a lot, Mark - love the new pics!

now you mention how long it too you to make ... maybe I'll save it for later, when I've managed to build something smaller (shoe-box, maybe!). I should learn to distinguish between what I dream of and what I can acheive . But there's always the handyman .

Thjanks so much for giving specs. They'll no doubt come in handy, someday - but don't think I'll hold my breath till then.

I think a wishing well too......put it on the front and maybe you'll get coins in its bucket :0)

3 Apr, 2014

especially if you put a sign up saying that all coins will go to a local charity.

But then you'll risk the nerds who migth use it to dispose of their beer cans or chip wrappers or burger boxes, sigh

Hi, Mark! I am so sorry, I came late.... I was very busy this week and didn t check GoY regularly. Thank you very much! :-)
Wow, Mark, that is fantastic planter. Honestly, when I was watching the first photos, I thought it would be a garden roof above the well. I would need something similar for raspberry bed, in order to avoid their spreading in the garden.

Stroller@What does "wishing well planter" mean?

3 Apr, 2014

Hi Katarina mmmm raspberry bed !!!. A wishing well is a term from european folk lore to describe wells, where it was thought that any spoken wish would be granted. The idea that a wish would be granted came from the idea that water housed deities or had been placed there as a gift from the gods.Since water was a source of life and often a scarce commodity.

It as been reported that people around the world throw 3 million pound per year into wishing wells. hope this helps mark :))
