Last year's wasp nest

My son decided to remove a wasp nest from his loft, hoping it may discourage a new one being built. It really is such an amazing structure, made it seems, from paper and wood pulp. Although they were not altogether welcome guests, he couldn’t help admiring their work. Me too.

I often see the wasps peeling wood of my old shed to build their nests. They are wonderful little builders - but I don't want them building here thank you !

Beautiful Mad, never seen such a good specimen.

We have had quite a lot of wasps nests - they seem to like the Boston Ivy that we used to have, but I have found that they are pretty harmless flying in the loft. I think the problem comes when they get drunk - no change there then!

No Great, these builders don't stop for tea breaks, fag breaks etc. etc., but we do sometimes get stung!
