Apple Blossom

Has anyone noticed how much blossom there is on the Apple Trees this year, this one is in a neighbours garden. At least there shouldn’t be any frost to spoil it.
Also in the picture you can see a field of rape, which is very patchy and not the usual field of yellow.

That's a lovely lot of flowers. I hope there will be a good crop of apples to follow :o)

We certainly have a mass of beautiful blossom on our two small trees. So beautiful, isn't it?

I have quite a lot on my apple trees which I wasn`t expecting as they had been moved in November, however, I was wondering what sort of crop to expect as there doesn`t seem to have been many bees about.

All the rain last summer probably helped the blossom but between the strong winds and lack of bees I too wonder what will happen....

as the old farmers used to say 'cold wet May plenty of corn and hay' think it also applies to fruit trees, mine is covered in blossom as are the hawthorn and blackthorn trees. The reason the rape is poor is that it didn't germinate, lots of farmers around us have reset with spring oil seed rape. Some of the fields are ok and in full flower, but lots are poor. Lovely photo and beautiful view.

Yes. Agree about the apple blossom. A little stag used to love one of our small apple trees as the flowers then were at his height and our crop was very poor as a result. Since he "disappeared" we have had bumper crops.

Rape fields are equally spectacular here in Dorset.
