End of March.

Our land looks pretty sad in comparison with all your photos. We are few weeks behind this year. I always thought that our climate is very comparable to one in England but for few years now our weather is very inconsistent and wild. An extremely hot summer last year , floods and late spring this year is little troublesome.
I just looked at all your photos and see the difference in our vegetation.
My OH did the first grass cut on March 27 and as can be seen in this photo our Magnolia barely shows flower buds.

But our first Roufus hummingbird showed up couple of days ago (exactly the same day as last year). It is written in many places that males come first and are followed by females couple weeks later but we have females here already.
This is a male Rufous on our feeder yesterday.

Anna’s hummingbirds stay with us all winter long and we feed them. We have here a fairly large group of about 40 as far as I can count…which is not very easy because they move around very fast.

2 female Anna’s at our feeder on March 27th:

So what is blooming at very end of March?
Forsythia, I have several around the property:

Ribes sanguineum “White Icicle”

Although a popular ground cover Pachysandra can be invasive here so I have it in the pot . I thought that it is deer resistant plant but no…they do munch on it.

Pulmonaria

And of course lots of primulas everywhere

Pink Bellarina

Daphne Odora blooms very early.

Inherited hellebore

So… I am not completely flowerless.
We had lots of rain lately but temperatures are relatively warm so hopefully our flowering trees will follow soon.

It would have been so good to see your photos, Klahanie. When mine - in a blog - disappeared, I tried simply posting individual pics in “Photos” and it worked. Of course they might not stay there, but worth a try?!

Such a shame about the photo's Klahanie,it made for a good read though so not all bad...
Have to admit its getting very annoying now, I've only managed to upload one pic and that is in my gallery, I think it was a fluke as it certainly is not working again now....

Oh Klahanie! What a blasted shame! Your photos aren’t visible..I’d love to have seen them too…
As the others have said, your blog made for a lovely read despite the absent pics. I found my pics disappeared on my tidying the bund blog the other week..I went onto the edit box and then resized them and added them back on…fingers crossed they remain.

Frustrating! I'm one of the lucky ones who saw your stunning pictures yesterday. Your hummers are such a delight.

It's such a shame that we can't see your photos, klahanie! 😢 but I see the pictures in your last blog continue there! 👍

Don't fret abut the flowers Klahanie - the humming birds make up for a lot! Perhaps if you resize the pics as suggested you might be lucky next time?

Thankyou so much for persevering Klahanie, the photo's are all there and its a pleasure to see them, I love the photographs of the birds, you live in a beautiful place and you do have a lot of colourful shrubs and flowers to admire..
Our weather has gone silly again, Mother Nature rewarded us with some beautiful warm days, that is until we changed the clocks and gained our extra light of an evening, think she remembered we'd had a very mild winter so decided to provide us with a touch of what we should have expected weeks back, now we're all keeping our fingers xx hoping our fruit trees, camelia's and the new plants emerging in our g'houses make it through..
I sincerely hope your lovely photographs stay around long enough for everyone to see them....I do agree and have given up thinking Goy will ever be fixed, although I'm still hanging on..
