This clump has grown from a single crown planted in a small trough in autumn 2003

I'm not sure of the scale I'm seeing Andrew - how big are these flowers? I don't recognise it at all...

Sid - these flowers are a couple of inches across - the plant only gets about eight inches tall so they are quite big for the size of the plant. Downside is they only last for two or three weeks. This is a woodlander so full or part shade and a humusy soil suit it - beware of slug damage, especially in spring

Probably the short flowering time makes it unviable at Garden Centres. By the time they've got it, it's stopped!
