Found a picture of a couple more of my monsters for you Dawn, inula racemosa this grows 7-8ft, have to excuse the bindweed on the left the bane of my life.

Oh yes, its a beauty. Bind weed is the bane of my life too, it must like our clay. And why does it also snap off when you try and dig it out.

I sprayed three times here with roundup and dug loads out before planting and it still came back,must be a survival technique Dawn because every little bit regrows doesn't it?

It sure does, I hate the stuff, it can smother plants and if you try and remove it, it wrecks the plant cos the leaves end up pulling off. Ive been told to put a support next to a particular plant so it grows up that instead but its still there, horrid stuff.
