Just been given one of these from my brother in laws garden - seems to have taken ok but no berries yet!

No I think it's a type of simpherocarpus. I've got another one with white berries, otherwise known as Snowberry. I'm not 100% sure about this one but I think it's a relative of the Snowberry, with pinkish berries instead.

Yes - I planted it underneath a yew tree as I thought it was one of the few shrubs that would grow in such dense shade.
