Hi Spritzhenry - sounds like you have grown these for the first time - as have I this year. I like the flowers, but my plants are quite untidy looking - - don't know if I maybe planted them in too rich soil - just a bit straggly. How are yours? They look neat in this picture?

They were sown in early March Spritz I thought all I was going to get was the leaves untill I looked today and there was this one little flower It has a few buds as well to open

How long did they take to flower, Janette? I planted some too, and they seem to be very slow. No sign of flowers yet.

I planted this in my garden about 6/7 years ago and it self seeds every year, ive just pulled them out to make room for my bedding plants...Once you have A poached egg plant you will always have it.. Cant be Bad :))

THIS IS MY FIRST TIME GROWING THESE JANETTE THEY LOOK REALLY NICE AMONGST THE CHOCOLATE COSMOS.

Yes, they are. I don't know why yours should be straggly. These are growing in the back borders which were composted last autumn, so the soil is probably quite rich too. Sorry that's no answer for your mystery.
