No not all! I'm like that with daffodils: they're lovely flowers, in other people's gardens but not in mine!

Lovely photo - but, I'm sorry, not one of my favourite shrubs! I got rid of three of them from my garden.... wicked woman, aren't I!

I make that mistake with cuttings.
Accidentally break something off a bush ~
push it in a pot ~
it starts growing away and I haven't got a clue what it is :o)

Leycesteria formosa, common names Flowering Nutmeg and Pheasant Berry.
More likely to have been a seedling than a cutting as it self sows fairly readily.

behind foreground plant is clematis Montana Reubens, goes berserk in the spring, you can just see it making it's way up into the Ash tree, which when it gets a good grip will turn the tree pink in spring before the leaves come out

Hello Chrispook,
Good luck on your search.Apparently this plant was very popular in Victorian times.

I loke this one. Must keep an eye out for it in our garden centre's. Not all plants have reached this part of the world yet!

Hi Flcrazy
Yes it's a great plant.I have two and they seed freely which means I've always have some seedlings to give to friends.

Awesome pic..!, and it's a great plant to have in the garden. Last year's shoots start blooming in May here, and the new shoot growth starts blooming in late July-early August, so it has blooms for several months.!

Love his plant I have it in my garden, I remember reading somewhere that this was a prized plant to have in the garden about one hundred years ago, and that they made jam from the berries, they taste like carmel. I also grow the new cultivar, 'golden lanterns', for it's chartreuse foliage.

We are very lucky to have quite a lot of blue lias walls - the cottage is built from blue lias - dates back to 1530, and I'm always digging up lumps of it, possibly from old walls no longer here.

Love the way you have flowers cascading over your rock walls. It softens the sharp edges, and add character to the wall, and gives it a aged look. Always wished I had a rock wall to work with. You've done and excellent job with yours.!

Lime green and chocolate are a super colour combination. We used this colour theme last year and it works so well.
