I've got gazania first time this year and what a wonder. I wait with held breath for each to open up. Do yours open like this only in the morning? Thats what mine have been doing.

Yes they are annuals. They like plenty of sun. The flowers close up if the sun is not shining. We have hot summers here and our soil is sandy. Not that different to Ohio???? Equivalent to zone 6.

I love these. My guess is these are annuals - I wonder if they'd grow that pretty here in Dayton, Ohio?

OK - Janette, what's the best way to grow Gazanias please? (I might have to send her a private message in case she doesn't see this!)

I bought six of these as plug-plants and grew them on in the greenhouse - I shall definitely grow them again, I'll try seeds next year!

I think you answered my question. I've had cool afternoons, more sun in the morning.
