Hi Angie - yes, I do have some seeds for this! They have JUST started to come ripe and I am collecting them VERY carefully!!! However, they take a long time to grow and get to flower - I wrote a blog on this plant which you should read before I send you some seed.

Yes, I did read your blog although I had forgotten what you said about it being shy to flower. Unfortunately our gardens are basically clay ..... either dry and hard or wet and sticky .... so I think I would have to cosset such a plant in its own container. Worth it though !!

Very glad to hear it, Xela! Tho you might have to wait a while before it flowers for you ;-) I did a blog on this plant, in case you didn't see it...

Yes, dieramas grow from a corm and are deep rooting. Because of this, they do not move well are not really suitable for growing in pots either

I've got a Dierama but not sure which type it is. Does this grow from a corm ?

Thanks both! I wondered if it might be the pots that was bothering them - problem is, I don't have much space for plants that arn't flowering! I will definately find room for them now tho and just give them time I guess...

They hate pot culture is the trouble, Plant them out as soon as you can. Mine flowered in their second year from seed planted out

Dieramas are slow to establish, either as young plants or from seed. If they are growing strongly, they are happy with the conditions - it's just a matter of patience I'm afraid

This photo is a couple of years old. I have to cut all the seed heads off or I would have nothing else in the garden. They are beautiful thugs.
