For some reason my annual asters don't seem to get mildew.
The perennial ones get it as do my tall rudbeckia and my marigolds. I get various other fungal disorders on plants too, but these asters are OK/

You should be able to buy seeds Mike. They are hardy annuals, so just sow where you want them to flower. I bought 2 plants 2 years ago and now I have hundreds, which is not a problem for me because I have lots of space. Those I have were supplemeted this year by pink ones from a packet given by a friend.
