Genus: Aster

The name Aster comes from the Ancient Greek word astron, meaning "star", arriving through the Latin word astrum with the same meaning, referring to the shape of the flower head. Many species are popular as garden plants because of their attractive and colourful flowers.

I think this is aster laevis. Aster frikartii has slightly larger leaves which are a lighter green.

Oh Yes! Nice to see a fellow North American on here.
nature's bounty...I have goldenrod that I did not plant but I've left it alone to see how it will fare...If it gets too pushy I just rip it out by its plentiful roots.lol.

This one is not Monch though. It is probably Wunder Von Stafa. The true Monch is darker blue than this.

They are good if you avoid the ones that get mildew, one of the best I think is Aster 'Monch'.
