Wow where are you growing this Andrew? and does it have any perfume?

DD - yes it is scented. It needs a cool, moist (but not waterlogged), sheltered position is part shade; it absolutely hates hot and dry conditions. It also needs a very fertile soil, so lots of feeding and a mulch in early spring. After flowering, the bulbs splits into smaller ones which take a few years to get to flowering size again. If grown from seed, it typically takes seven years to get to the flowering stage

Well at our age we will not be growing from seed!! do these Crinums that we are growing in pots need the same conditions, I know nothing about Crinums, just liked the look of the bulbs!! they were huge, have just rescued them as they are getting very wet, have bought them inside.....now what, loads of leaves and that is all...
