This is Basil, I don't actually know him but couldn't resist taking his picture! He was still in the same position 3 hours later.

Where is it? I can see it's the Cotswolds.

This is Sherston, which is on the glos/wilts border. There used to be a clematis nursery there, a bit run down now. I worked in the nursery and then the flower shop. David plays cricket for Sherston and has gigged in the pub called 'The Rattlebone'!
Sherston has a website, not sure how good it is.....It's a very friendly village with a ancient history dating back to about the 12th C.

Looks lovely, those are the benefits of living in the country!

Thats so cute! Lovely dog!

I have some lovely memories of Sherston Lou, when Mum and Dad lived there at Pinkney Park (Mum was housekeeper there) and my brother and his wife met there too...while haymaking lol!

What a coincidence Tet. They own the cricket pitch and GC and when I was a carer in London, the old boys grandparents rented the old house (maybe the one that burnt down!?) It's got it's own ghost too! Sherston is a happy villlage, I just love it.

Ive experienced the ghost Lou, over the stables when I stayed with Mum and Dad for a week..didnt know about it first either!

And the handprint in blood which manifests on one of the walls!!!
18 Jul, 2011
I actually slept (or tried to) in THE room..and I believe the handprint was on the door..but dont quote me..it was many years ago!
18 Jul, 2011
Yikes!
18 Jul, 2011
Oops, dont mean to say I saw the handprint..just I was told it was on the door..lol! Got terrible chills in the middle of the night tho..it woke me up. Goodness, my son was just a toddler then and he's now knocking on towards 50!! It WAS a long time ago...

Oh I know, I am 48 this week and I have friends staying from Denmark I haven't seen in 25 years! Everyone tells me I haven't changed but my bones have!!

Lulu, that dog is gorgeous! I have put him on my faves...that's the dog for me...wonder how Molly would feel about being usurped...hmmm...I think we both know the answer! :))

Grt catch hes Beautiful :)
18 Jul, 2011
I wonder how many people have stopped in the past to say hello to him! Lots I'll bet!
19 Jul, 2011
If Basil is old, then I understand. It is like watching BBC news.
21 Jul, 2011
I don't think is old. I would rather be people watching than watching the news!!!
22 Jul, 2011
What are the news about? Usually about people and catastrophes, right?
22 Jul, 2011
Yes! So I don't watch it. I know it is happening but the reporting that is done world wide is negative and often untrue.
22 Jul, 2011
What I was thinking here is, that for animals watching around and smelling gives them the same information and stimulation like watching TV news to people.
22 Jul, 2011
Ah I see what you meant. I often wonder what they smell and see!
