Pond plants

Can anyone recommend some plants to go round the edge of my pond, not actually submerged in water?

I have got 2 fairly large gold fish in my pond, one is red the other mainly light pink with a little bit of red on the tail, I have seen about six small fish, about 3 inches long in the pond, could anyone tell me why they are all dark brown to near black? Please. Many thanks Michaella

Wildlife pond - decking legs in water.

Nearly finished digging and been told a deck would look nice to view pond from.Thought better write this now before being let loose with power tools.Deck legs need to stand in water but do I cut liner round them put holes through how to stop water leaking away ?Presumably do this before liner goes in?

water lillies

Does anyone have any tips on water lillies, I believe that you should gradually lower them to the bottom of the pond, is this correct? When do you the right time to lower them? Also is there anything you need to do to them once they have finished flower?

Ponds

Does anyone have any suggestions for keeping a pond clear? Mine is not very large approx 2 metre mtre square, I put it in in Feb this year. Its main purpose is just to attract wildlife, I have some aquatic plants, one small water lilly and some marginal plants. It attracted frogs in Spring so I have had tadpoles. The water is becoming cloudy and there is blanket weed developing , I keep scooping this out. Anyone have any tips? Do you think I should have a pump or filter in the pond, would some fish help to keep the weed down? I really want it to look good but I am a bit despondant so far.
