About this plant

Genus: Thalictrum.

Species: Thalictrum rochebruneanum.

Meadow-rue has bluetiful, lacy foliage a little bit like a Columbine or Maidenhair Fern in effect. This species produces rather tall clumps, with deep purple stems that bear big clusters of bright lavender-mauve flowers in mid-summer. Makes an unusual cut flower. Terrific in the woodland garden, or a moist sunny border.
