About this plant
Genus: Allium.
Species: Allium tuberosum.
I planted garlic chives to accompany the red rose, because I read that all members of the allium family helped keep pests at bay for the roses...I think it worked fairly well, but the chives grew too big and even when I cut them, they were a tangled mess...I finally decided to just get rid of them and found that their roots went deep and everywhere in the container...I came to the conclusion they either need a deeper pot or should be planted in the garden, in soil. Though they smelled delicious, I don't think I'll plant them again.
