Golden Groove Bamboo
Genus: Phyllostachys.
Species: Phyllostachys vivax.
There are two of these in the front garden. One is in front of the bay, and the other is right in the corner by the fence. They are not as hardy as the ones in the back, and they are potentially much taller as well. If they get too big you will need to remove them, but they grow fairly slowly and I doubt they will give you any trouble for some years yet. I remove the leaves on the lower parts of the stems so you can see the stems better in the winter as they are so bright and cheerful.
