Musk Mallow
Genus: Malva.
Species: Malva moschata.
One of the first plants I grew when I moved here in 2000, grown from a packet of seed in a gardening magazine. I have the pink-flowered form. I don't know if it is the wild one or has been bred at all but it is a native wildflower, and probably one of our prettiest ones. Grows easily from seed, flowering the first year and self-seeds readily, although it's easy to deadhead the papery cases if that's not wanted.
