certainly interests me. WEA classes start next
week. Anyone with any kind of benefit can attend
free of charge. Others have reduced charges.
No exams. University Lecturers.
Recommended book lists for further research.
I take notes, type them up at home, and keep as a
Course Record.
Good way to finish off the winter.
Just 2 to 3.30 p.m.
Give it a try !

Hi Diane, I guess you're never too old to learn, Derek.

Glad you've found a new interest Diane, I've taken up conversational french, we have a great time. Must look up WEA courses:-)

I did a 2 term A level French, then found it was Parisien
French. I went to the South where they speak a
different dialect French. Like Cornwall and Aberdeen.
After a few days it dawned on me ( I am slow) to write
down the words I had learned on a card and show it
to them. Then they got all excited as they knew I had
made an effort to learn their language. French people
appreciate English people doing that.
Its worth taking a few cards with you in case you need
to do that.

Thats a clever idea Diane, I enjoy the art group I go to, not a course I have done them, this gives me the freedom to do what I feel like doing :0)

Remember in different parts of France they open and close local shops to suit the weather. Even when there is a notice in the window 'Ovre 4 p.m.' its often 6 p.m. when the stir themselves.
Best to take good supply of dried food.
