Just seen your pic of your Kalanchoe Diagremontiana,Hywel,so thought you would like to see how mine is doing ,that you kindly sent me last year..

..and some of its siblings, you also sent me..which are destined for friends..

Not doing bad,is it? considering how small it was.. It loves being in my Kitchen window..all I want to see now,is a flower..any ideas,on how long that will take ?

Good idea,Steragram..I did have more seeds,as Hywel sent me some as well..thought these were enough to try first ..and the main plant has lots of babies now :o)
..............
Thanks Pam.I had never heard of this before, till I saw Hywel's,..so it has been cared for quite well..nice to have a new challenge:o)

I seem to remember you posting a pic,Sheila..or someone did..maybe you got yours later than me..it will catch up,I'm sure..:o)..I remember the other name for it too..easier to remember as well :o)

You are right,Jewells..tiny little things on the ends of it's leaves..lots of them ! Fascinating how they form, isn't it ?
So easy to root ,too..I have been taking some off,as they will root in the pot with the parent..

Loking great!

It's doing well Sandra :o) Congratulations !
I hope it flowers for you. It took a year or two for my original one to do it, but it hasn't flowered for a while now. I hope yours and mine will flower this year.

How unusual, I havent seen this before, as Hywel got a picture of one in flower?

Sandra just looked and found it on Hywels pictures, I have had Klanchoe's before but not this particular one, sounds interesting to see the development ;0)

Yes,Hywel,I'm glad it's doing well..just romping away..I repotted it again, and staked it,a couple of weeks ago..as it looked as though it was leaning a bit..how tall will it get please?

Let me know if you want one,Carole, and if so,I'll bring it tomorrow, when we meet up..:o)

Doing very well :))
Full time job then Bloomer! You can open a nursery now ;)))

4 May, 2012

Cheers Karen..It could have well been a full time job,if I hadn't been strict with the seed planting ! The main plant had made loads too,but been picking a lot off..:o)

Would love to try one Sandra I have potted up some Sweet William for you to go with your Ladies Mantle, wonder If you would like some London Pride for your long border, let me know I have lots of it;0))

4 May, 2012

Thank you,Carole..thats great,I love Sweet Williams..but,I will pass on the London Pride,if that's ok...I really don't like it..and that's putting it mildly !...What? I hear you saying !...I bet it's the first plant you have heard me say that about..:o) Better to be honest though..looking forward to tomorrow even more now :o)

4 May, 2012

Me too Sandra even though you dont like my London Pride lol

4 May, 2012

ha ha,Carole..not just yours Carole..anybody's ! Lol.

Wildrose...so sorry,I just realised I missed you out..I think it has a pink flower..but according to Hywel,it doesn't flower often..but think it's grown more for the unusual foliage....I will just have to be patient.:o)
If you look at Hywels photo's..page 7..a close up,last one on row 2,and a full view..3rd one,row 3 ....or you could google it..I bookmarked a page,very useful and imformative..:o)

When I read Kalanchoe I thought of the more common house plant I've always known as 'Flaming Katy' ... usually the cheapest plant on the shelf on Mothering Sunday ... perfect for small children to buy for Mum so I was really pleased to see this variety for a change. Is this the one called 'Mother of Thousands', Sandra? .....

4 May, 2012

That is the only one I knew too,Shirley..and yes,I think it goes by that name as well, also Mexican hat plant..which a few goyers call it..so an easier alternative to its Latin name ! ..the times I had to keep looking how to spell it,before my blog ! Lol..Thanks for PM,will reply later :o) x
