Another pleasure. I just can't get over a these just growing wild. My one Incarvillea didn't even show this summer.

All those gorgeous Primulas and the Podophyllum, wow.

So, so pretty. Am making a list of these Alpines and seeing whether we can buy some of our favourites from Alpine Nurseries.

Great to be able to see them growing in a natural environment.

GF - my camera is just a Panasonic Lumix - a point-and-shoot kind. But it does take good quality photos as long as I point it in the right direction!

What beauties they have there love the one by the fallen tree. You should do a tv program Andrew of your travels of plants I would watch it.

Well the detail is excellent, very clear.
It must be difficult to identify all the different species you see, particularly the more unusual or rare ones.

GF - fortunately we had a qualified botanist on the trip, and there is a good book on the local plants (although it doesn't contain everything we saw). One of our travelling companions works in conservation in Germany, and he has been instrumental in identifying some of the more unusual plants as well.
